Is there a second chance?
When you ask yourself whether the relationship still has a chance or not, you should think carefully about the reasons that led to the break-up and whether you can eliminate those reasons. Getting back together just so you don't have to feel the pain anymore or because you miss each other so much is not a good idea. If the reasons have not been eliminated, there will be another break-up soon.
The Work can help you get closer to the answer as to whether you still have a chance. First, collect the beliefs that lead you to hope that he (or she) will come back.
Example beliefs:
He still loves me.
He only broke up with me because ...
It was difficult for him to break up with me, which means:
His decision is not final.
He is unsure.
I can still change his mind.
